When it comes to making the most of your vacation, location is undoubtedly the most important element. But accommodation isn’t far behind! Who hasn’t heard a horror story or two about the ramshackle hotel on the beach that looked fabulous on Tripadvisor?
Truthfully, vetting your accommodation before your trip is extremely important, which is one reason that hiring a great travel advisor is so valuable.
If you’re thinking about your next vacation and wondering where you might stay, check out this comparison of four popular hotel brands. We’ll be looking at Red Carnation, Belmond, Hyatt Privè, and Four Seasons to learn about their brands, accommodations, and how they work to enhance the guest experience. Luckily, I regularly work with these brands as a professional travel advisor, so no hotel horror stories here!
Red Carnation
Red Carnation is a large, family-owned brand in the hospitality industry. Their portfolio boasts 20 hotels in 8 different regions, including London, Edinburgh, Dorset, Geneva, Botswana, South Africa, Ireland, and Guernsey.
If you're planning to visit any of these destinations, consider allowing me to book your accommodation at one of their luxury hotel properties.
Red Carnation devotes attention to each and every detail of the guest experience, ensuring an unforgettable stay at their properties. Their award-winning spas offer cutting-edge health and wellness services, such as saltwater flotation tanks, body massages using crystal-infused oils, and traditional Turkish bath experiences.
The Red Carnation dining culture is also exemplary, with talented chefs and staff serving up extraordinary culinary experiences, like learning the art of foraging in a local forest, enjoying a picnic feast on the grounds of Kensington Gardens, or enjoying an in-room cocktail masterclass with an expert mixologist.
Red Carnation also maintains carefully cultivated relationships with local communities, giving guests access to authentic travel experiences typically unavailable to the casual traveler.
If you need some alone time, there are sanctuaries for private retreat and blissful seclusions. No matter your accommodation needs, they have a service that will give you an adventurous experience in any of their locations.
Belmond
Belmond has been a leading hospitality brand since 1976. Not only do they have a portfolio of 34 luxury hotel properties, but they also offer river cruises and safari stays in unique locations around the world.
As a luxury brand, Belmond offers bespoke travel packages that are custom-designed for the individual customer. A recent development is a vintage train experience designed by filmmaker Wes Anderson. Guests can travel across Britain in true cinematic style, enjoying the historical features of a 1930’s carriage with Anderson’s distinctive aesthetic.
Gastronomy is a strength of the Belmond brand. In Southeast Asia, guests traveling aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express might dine on dishes reflecting a mix of Singaporean and Thai cultures, enjoying spicy rendang curry and exotic lemongrass panna cotta. Guests traveling in Bali can master the art of Balinese cuisine with a private fish market tour and expert cooking class. Interested in a more extensive culinary experience? CCTP can work with Belmond directly to design a unique, gastronomy-focused itinerary that’s sure to impress.
Four Seasons
As one of the most widely recognized luxury hotel brands, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts certainly lives up to its reputation. The brand has properties on almost every continent, with hotels, resorts, and long-term residences that are the epitome of luxury and class.
Their signature culinary program, “Masterdishes,” is led by an acclaimed culinary team with an astounding 27 Michelin stars among them. The team crafts remarkable culinary gems that are both works of art and delicious meals to be savored. Guests can enjoy edible works of art such as reimagined macarons made with Rubis chocolate, lychee, raspberries, and lime compote, or a colorful tuna tartare made with edible flowers, crystal bread, and Kaluga caviar.
Four Seasons also offers a menu of exclusive travel experiences for guests at each of their properties, including figure skating lessons from an Olympian in Moscow, a private tour of coffee plantations in Maui by helicopter, and enjoying a private opera performance on the stage of the Hungarian State Opera House in Budapest. When it comes to creating extraordinary experiences, Four Seasons certainly knows how to shine.
Hyatt Privè
Hyatt Privè operates in more than 68 countries across six continents with a portfolio of 20 premier brands and more than 1,000 hotels and all-inclusive resorts, including the Park Hyatt and Andaz brands. This little known loyalty program offers an array of exclusive perks, including room upgrades, VIP credits to be used on property, complimentary breakfast, personalized welcome letter and amenities, and free WiFi.
But here’s the catch...you can’t book a Hyatt Privè stay through the regular Hyatt website. You have to go through a qualified travel advisor, such as yours truly!
